Who We Are

Jesus told us the greatest commands are to love God and love others. Then, right before returning to heaven, he commissioned his followers to go and make disciples, teaching them to obey everything he had taught them.

Our Mission

In obedience to the Lord’s greatest commands, our mission is to know God intimately and win others for him.

Our Vision

It is our vision to fulfill the Great Commission by multiplying believers, leaders, and churches.

Our Core Values

Connect to God

We live this out through worship and prayer.

Connect to Others

We live this out through building strong relationships and community involvement.

Do Something Great

We live this out through evangelism and multiplying churches.

What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of EastLake Community Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry are rooted in and flow out of these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.

God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

Sex & Gender

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male and female. These two distinct, complementary genders reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

Marriage

God's Word uses marriage as the supreme metaphor for His relationship with His covenant people. Therefore, God's plan for human sexuality is that it is to be expressed only in a monogamous lifelong relationship between one man and one woman within the framework of marriage. This is the only relationship which is divinely designed for the birth and rearing of children and is a covenant union made in the sight of God, taking priority over every other human relationship

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Resurrection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God’s kingdom on earth.

Sanctity of Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.
